Custom Mokume Gane Wedding Rings
2nd Jun 2022
At Dejan Studio Jewelry, our specialty is making each design to be different from the next. One of the techniques we use is Mokume Gane, an ancient metalsmithing technique originating in feudal Japan by swordsmiths. The name comes from its resemblance to wood grain. It is made by combining many layers of different metals at high temperatures to create an interesting fusion of colors and patterns. When used in wedding bands, this technique can symbolize union & uniqueness.
We had the pleasure of working with Machteld who found us online and commissioned us to make this interesting Mokume Gane diamond ring. This mixed metal ring is made with palladium, silver, 18K yellow & rose gold, and around 40 pt. of diamonds.
The beautiful custom Mokume Gane ring made it safely all the way to the Netherlands. Here we have the ring on Machteld’s hand.
Below are some other interesting examples of Mokume Rings in different mixtures of metals, both from our Genius of Nature Collection and Custom Designs.
